Dark Sky Wadden event
Call to bookActivity near Lauwersmeer
Dark Sky Wadden Events organizes unique evening events on Terschelling and Ameland, the darkest places in the Netherlands. When the weather is clear, you can enjoy a beautiful starry sky away from the disturbing light of the cities. It is also possible to observe through an advanced telescope. The observatories are intended for the general public and are organized by a professional astronomer. This initiative started on Terschelling in the summer of 2023. For a participant impression: see the reviews at the bottom of the programme. Nice to see that there is so much interest and enthusiasm in observing the starry sky in a dark environment! The next series of observations will take place on Terschelling between July 31 and August 12, 2024. On August 12, 2024, special attention will be paid to the annual Perseid meteors that will then reach their peak. The summer vacation observatories are very popular, so be quick! For the fully booked evenings, you can still sign up for the waiting list via the email address below. Should a seat become vacant, you will be notified.
